Car Museum in Wallsburg, UT

The car museum in Wallsburg, UT is stacked with the kind of vehicles that usually only exist in movies — because a few of them actually were. A 1938 Lincoln-Zephyr convertible that appeared in Bugsy. A 1996 Excalibur Cobra, one of only 178 ever built. A 1913 Pierce-Arrow 48-B Runabout that still turns over. All of it sits inside a 24-building museum on 350-plus acres in the mountains above Heber Valley, built by one Utah family who spent fifty years buying what most people only read about.

What’s In the Collection

The cars are split across two main buildings. One holds Model T and Model A Fords from the 1930s through the ’50s — the everyday machines that put America on wheels. The other is where the horsepower lives: muscle cars and Bonneville Salt Flats racers, including a 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, a Shelby GT500, a Dodge Challenger, and a run of Corvettes. Mixed in are the pieces that stop people mid-step — the Pierce-Arrow, the Excalibur Cobra, the Lincoln-Zephyr from Bugsy — cars most collectors only ever see in an auction catalog, sitting close enough to read the badge.

One Collector, Fifty Years, No Shortcuts

Every car here was bought by Richard Erickson, who moved to Utah in 1958 with a 1947 Ford and never really stopped adding to the garage. He and his wife Rita spent decades tracking these vehicles down before incorporating the collection as a nonprofit in 1999, specifically so it would outlast them. As board chairman Russell Baker puts it, the point was never just the car — it’s the story behind it, and this collection has more of those than most museums twice its size.

Plan Your Visit

Like the rest of the property, the car collection isn’t open for daily walk-ins — you’ll see it as part of a 2.5–3 hour guided walking tour through all 24 buildings. Tours are $25 per person, free for kids 12 and under, and available year-round by appointment, with group rates for clubs, schools, and senior outings. September through May is actually the easiest time to book a private tour, since the big summer events — Antique Power Show, TedFest, Power Mountain Music Festival — have wrapped for the year. Wear shoes built for gravel and hills, and don’t expect cell signal; it’s part of what makes the place feel like it hasn’t caught up to 2026 yet, on purpose.
